CONTROL Resonant PC Requirements: Can Your PC Run It?
Your PC needs 16 GB of RAM, a 120 GB SSD and at least a GTX 1070 or RX 5600 XT to run CONTROL Resonant. That minimum targets 1080p on low settings.

Your PC needs 16 GB of RAM, a 120 GB SSD and at least a GTX 1070 or RX 5600 XT to run CONTROL Resonant. That minimum targets 1080p on low settings. For 1440p on medium, Remedy recommends an RTX 3060 Ti or RX 6700 XT.
Note what does not change between the two tiers: memory and storage. Both minimum and recommended list 16 GB and a 120 GB SSD, with the store page adding “SSD Required” outright.

Ray tracing has its own, much steeper tier
The store page does not split out ray tracing, but the tier published by hardware outlets does. For path tracing at 1080p and 30 frames per second, expect to need an i7-8700K or Ryzen 5 3600X with an RTX 2060 Super, RX 6600 or Arc A580. For 1440p and 60 frames per second with ray tracing on, the reported requirement climbs to an RTX 4070 Ti or RX 9070.
That is a two-generation jump over the non-ray-traced recommendation, which matches what reviewers found in practice: ray tracing gets expensive in the open Manhattan zones, and turning it off restores a comfortable frame rate without ruining the look.
How your GPU compares
Work up from the minimum. A GTX 1070-class card handles 1080p on low. An RTX 3060 Ti-class card handles 1440p on medium. Anything at RTX 4070 Ti level is where ray tracing becomes practical. If your GPU sits between two tiers, drop one resolution notch rather than one quality tier; image upscaling does the rest.
Steam Deck and handheld status
Steam still lists CONTROL Resonant’s Steam Deck compatibility as Unknown, and Remedy has not published a handheld preset. Reviewers who tested the game on the Deck reported that indoor areas hold a playable frame rate while open-city traversal drops into the twenties, so a full playthrough on the base Deck is currently a compromise.
Settings to change first
If the frame rate dips, change these in order: turn ray tracing off entirely, then lower volumetric fog and shadow quality, then set upscaling to a balanced preset. Reviewers who played on high-end cards reported that ray tracing was the single biggest cost and that disabling it left the game looking strong.
