CONTROL Resonant releases digitally on 24 September 2026. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S get it alongside PC, and the Digital Deluxe Edition lets PS5 owners start 48 hours earlier, on 22 September. Steam pre-load opens on 23 September.
Below is the full order of events, plus the one detail that catches people out: early access is not available on Xbox or PC.

Pre-load dates for consoles come from tracking accounts and media reports rather than a Remedy announcement, so treat the PC line as the firm one: that timing came from the official Steam news post. Steam itself shows a live countdown on the store page, which is the quickest way to confirm your own unlock time.
Digital Deluxe early access is PlayStation 5 only
The PlayStation Store version comparison lists 48H Early Access on the Digital Deluxe column. The Xbox Store lists the same Deluxe contents with no early-access line at all, and the Steam listing never mentions it. If you are buying on Xbox or PC, paying for Deluxe buys you the artbook, soundtrack and in-game extras, but you still wait for 24 September.
What happens before launch day
- Pre-load. Consoles load first, then Steam on 23 September. Leave room on the drive.
- Early access. PS5 Digital Deluxe opens on 22 September, two days before everyone else.
- Global unlock. 24 September for everyone on PS5, Xbox and PC.
- Physical copies. Discs ship on 15 October.
Physical copies and the Mac version come later
Remedy announced on 18 August 2026 that the game had gone gold, the same day the physical edition slipped to 15 October. The Mac release was confirmed for later in 2026 on Steam and the App Store, with no month attached yet. There is also no announced Nintendo Switch 2 version.
